Professor Shehadeh Gharib, a faculty member of Law at Zarqa University, and a professor of civil law and intellectual property, Dean of the Faculty of Law, South Valley University in Egypt, explained the legal system of patent in Jordanian law and the conditions for granting patents.
Yes The owner of the patent shall have the right to obtain an additional patent for the remainder of the period of protection of the original invention as long as the original patent is in force. The patent shall be subject to the provisions of this law relating to the original patent and the right to grant a patent.
Dr. Raed Sobh, a professor of civil law at Zarqa University, said that a patent is any creative idea of the inventor in any of the technical fields related to a product or method of manufacturing that leads to solve a specific problem in different fields He also referred to the required conditions of any patent such as novelty, industrialization potentiality and inventive activity. Dr. Sonh pointed to the procedures provided by the law for granting legal protection to a patent, and for filing a patent application.
He added that the Jordanian project gave the registrar discretion to accept and reject .The invention can be rejected if it is incompatible to public order or morals, or is not in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the law.

The workshop aimed to introduce the theoretical and practical aspects of patent application procedures and develop the basic skills for drafting patent applications.
